Paul wrote, “who shall ascend into heaven.” This teaches us that we are not saved by works or effort; salvation and all things pertaining to it is directly from heaven. We do not reach up to heaven for it! Salvation is solely a gift. When we get this straight, the people of faith are less troubled and church teaching is more accurate.
