Hear My Prayer Oh Lord Today!
Know our needs before we pray,
more we feel or think or say,
Hear My Prayer Oh Lord Today!
Who knows what God will do,
so here’s my prayers to You!
Pray the strength to do Your will;
swift be kind, slow be right,
right not good if swift to fight,
swift to hear, slow to speak,
slow to anger, swift to peace,
swift to give, slow to greed,
slow to envy, slow to lust,
slow to rule, swift be just,
slow to fear, swift to faith,
slow to judge, swift to grace,
swift to hope, slow to mope,
slow to bitter, resentments too,
swift to love and never hate,
forgive, forget the hurts that brew.
Let me know-teach me now,
help me soon to be and do.
Need the strength from You!
I love with mind, heart and soul.
This I know, You surely know;
spirit willing, flesh is weak.
strength to do Your Will I seek.
Another prayer I pray to You.
Hear My Prayer Oh Lord Today!
Let me start my day with You.
Sense Your Love and Presence too.
Before sun breaks the plane,
the dawn – the breaking of the day,
wake up to You – look up to You,
lift my heart and voice to say,
my love my heart is Yours today.
My love for You and You for me.
Loving presence sweet embrace;
better than the love of women,
better than the love of kin and kin,
better than the best of health,
better than the love of wealth,
better than the love of fame,
better than a power claimed.
better than my best of faith,
better than my best of hope.
Faith can fail-hope can fade.
Love of God will never fail;
God’s Love is here to stay.
Never morrow fail or fade,
nor fail or fade today.
God not dead – misguided soul.
I spoke with Him this morning;
His hand was on my heart,
His presence felt in my soul,
His Word and thought all day.
Hear My Prayer Oh Lord Today!
Start and end my day with You.
Sense Your Love and Presence too!
Another prayer I pray to You.
Hear My Prayer Oh Lord Today!
Help me write the rhyme,
words to write that stay.
The only drift I barely know,
inward regions of the soul.
This You ask to write from me.
Matters of the heart and soul.
Life has been an inward search;
I’ve known the fire’s hearth.
from hurt and fault, I learned to be,
kept searching You, I learned of me.
Mistakes I own, do well is Yours.
All from You is what I see.
Pray to guide some clarity;
this is what I have to share,
fruitful souls my only fare.
Hear My Prayer Oh Lord Today!
Keep me close to You;
let me hear your secret voice,
impressions heart and soul,
subtle, bursting waves to shore,
sound is like His voice to me,
soft and subtle – charged and clear.
Rhyme and writ – please count for Thee!
Hear My Prayer Oh Lord Today.
